The American Jewish Archives Collection consists of six boxes of photocopies of material dealing with Alaska's Jewish population. It also includes three reels of microfilm containing the memoirs of Jessie S. Bloom, a history of the Girl Scouts in Fairbanks, Alaska, and records of the Fairbanks Jewish Women's League.

The American Jewish Archives (AJA) was founded by Dr. Jacob Rader Marcus (1896-1995), former graduate and professor at the Hebrew Union College. For over a half century, the American Jewish Archives has been preserving American Jewish history and imparting it to the next generation. Robert Bloom (1879-1974), born in Lithuania and Jessie Bloom (1897-1980), born in Ireland, were married in Seattle in 1913 and subsequently made their home in Fairbanks, where Robert Bloom had operated a general store since 1904. During their life in Fairbanks Robert helped found the University of Alaska, promoted agriculture in the Interior, particularily wheat, and became a partner in a flying service.
